The warranty and what to expect from your concrete project is detailed in the following pages.  If you should have any questions or concerns regarding our warranty, please do not hesitate to either contact our office or your salesperson for further clarification.

INFORMATION OF WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR CONCRETE WORK

  1. What to Expect with your Concrete Flatwork or Decorative Concrete Surfaces:

FINISHES

• Interior concrete floor surfaces are finished smooth. Interior surfaces can include the house, garage floors, porches, and patios. A finished smooth surface allows for easy maintenance. Please be aware that smooth finishes are very slippery when moistened. Extreme caution is highly recommended for this type of surface used.

• Exterior Flatwork Concrete for walkways, driveways, patio and etc. is recommended to have a broom finish. This surface finish is less slippery and designed to be walked on even when wet.

• Decorative Concrete Surfaces is another great option for a less slippery surface and designed to be walked on even when wet.

• Decorative Concrete Surfaces is a surface imprinted by hand to resemble different patterns or textures chosen by you.  The unique beauty of the stamped concrete is the imperfection created by the stamp/print chosen for your project.

SURFACE

A common misconception is that your driveway, porch, or sidewalk surface will last and hold indefinitely. Unfortunately, this is not true. Exterior concrete is subject to inclement weather particularly in Florida, and these surfaces are considered to be heavy traffic areas. This results in normal wear and tear on concrete surfaces.

DISCOLORATION

Another common misconception is color matching. It is not possible to match the exact color of your porch to your sidewalk or to your driveway. Sometimes even the different concrete pours of your driveway will not match exactly (most driveways require two or more loads of concrete, these will even vary in color). This is especially true if concrete placements are made on different days. Most of these color variations are minor and will fade over time.

If you are considering replacing one or two squares on your driveway or sidewalk you must take into consideration the color difference that will result between the older sections and the newly poured section. This color variation can take a week, a month or even many years to blend and will be noticeable.

CRACKS

Concrete could crack. We do not like it either, but it is going to happen and here is why…  Concrete is a strong and very rigid material. Concrete floors are poured over large areas (i.e. driveways, etc.). It is required to service the slab by either cutting or forming control joints on its surface These control joints are places we want the concrete to crack. Control joints are cut into the concrete slab surface between 12 and 48 hours after the concrete is placed. However, sometimes cracks occur before the joints are cut. We do everything we can to control cracking. However, there is no guarantee that the concrete will not develop cracks in other locations later. A crack that is 1/4 of an inch or less (height or gap) is not a warranty issue; therefore, it is not covered under this warranty.  Eagle Concrete Corp will only be responsible for correcting only those cracks that exceed the standard.  An appropriate joint or crack filler can be used and is acceptable for a crack up to ½ inch in width or vertical displacement.

SHIFTING & SETTLING

Most driveways, walkways and some garage floors will have some shifting (separation or height difference) over time – this is not uncommon. If you notice that your driveway or garage floor has moved a little or sounds hollow, this is nothing to be concerned about either, especially if there are no cracks present. This is not a warranty issue.  If your home has a patio or walkway, then it is possible that it may settle slightly. When we laid the concrete we compacted the surface ground deep below the slab, but this is no guarantee that the concrete work will not settle.  We cannot warranty against settling because the sub-grade (below the surface sand) is beyond our control.

• TEXTURE

It is possible that your neighbor’s concrete may appear to have a different texture or finish than yours. This is common and is no cause for concern. Concrete is a wearing surface, and it will also change color over time.

2. How Our Warranty Works:

CRACKED CONCRETE

• The industry standard for repair or replacement is greater than a 1/4 of an inch displacement (either height or gap). We may warranty cracks that exceed 1/4 of an inch in height or gap.

• The decision to repair or replace concrete will be determined at the sole discretion of Eagle Concrete Corp.

MAINTENANCE

• Use of chemicals not recommended by Eagle Concrete Corp. will void this warranty.

• Use of Pressure Clean Machine at your own discretion will void this warranty.

EXTREME WEATHER OCCURRENCES/ EVENTS

Florida is in a severe weather region. Throughout the rainy season, there could be weather conditions that might affect the integrity of our work. During these weather events, your exterior concrete work could be compromised. Unfortunately, this warranty does not cover nature’s natural occurrences.

• The decision to repair or replace concrete will be determined at the sole discretion of Eagle Concrete Corp.

4. Customer Care of Concrete

nitrate (i.e. fertilizers). Such products are known to aggressively attack concrete.

• Apply a good quality sealer. Contact your contractor to purchase an additional concrete sealer for an additional cost.

• Re-application of the sealer is generally recommended every two years.  Contact Eagle Concrete for a re-application for an additional cost.

• For stain removal, do not use harsh acids. Use a product recommended by Eagle Concrete Corporation specifically designed for

the stain in question and for use on concrete.
